Short cycles driven by data
Monday February 16, 2026 9:50am - 10:50am CST
Our presentation will be centered around how to properly analyze data from Fastbridge, i-Ready, or quarterly reading assessments and determine which skills could be improved with a short cycle. We will show how to find reports and decide if this skill should be retaught after giving a pre-test. Pre-test data will be entered in a spreadsheet provided by us and shared. Then we will explain to reteach and how long to do so. After this, a post test should be given to gather data and reenter in the spreadsheet.

Often called the “hidden sense,” it plays a critical role in motor skills, coordination, and overall body awareness. In this session, we’ll explore how proprioception impacts student learning and behavior, and discover practical strategies to support this sense in the classroom.

Every Minute Matters: Maximizing Instructional Time in Early Childhood & Kindergarten (SPED and Gen. Ed)
Monday February 16, 2026 2:40pm - 3:40pm CST
his presentation focuses on practical strategies for Early Childhood and Kindergarten educators (General education and Special Education) to maximize instructional time throughout the school day—without adding more minutes to the schedule. We’ll explore how intentional routines, smooth transitions, and developmentally appropriate structures can significantly increase learning opportunities for young students. The session will highlight how small adjustments in daily flow—such as visual schedules, transition cues, embedded learning moments, and classroom environment design—can reduce downtime and help students stay engaged. We’ll also look at ways to turn naturally occurring moments (lining up, cleaning up, moving between centers, bathroom breaks, recess transitions) into opportunities for language development, social skills practice, pre-academic skill reinforcement, and independence-building. Participants will: Review the impact of transition time on total instructional minutes. Learn methods for minimizing lost time and preventing behavior concerns during transitions. Explore high-impact routines that support consistency and student autonomy. Identify ways to embed academic and social-emotional learning seamlessly into transitions. This session is designed to support Special Education and General Education- Early Childhood and Kindergarten teachers, paraprofessionals, in creating smooth, efficient, and predictable classroom days that maximize every learning moment for young learners.

From Winter Doldrums to Deep-Learning: Project-Based Learning That Ignites Engagement in the 3-5 Classroom
Monday February 16, 2026 2:40pm - 3:40pm CST
When we design projects that ask students to solve real problems, we pull them into a creative learning cycle that strengthens communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students engaged in project-based learning consistently show higher academic achievement and greater readiness for future careers. Even as AI becomes more prevalent in education, these skills remain irreplaceable for real-world application and meaningful work. And just as important, project-based learning is fun. It energizes instruction, deepens student engagement, and makes assessment more meaningful as teachers watch learning unfold through a finished project. In this presentation, participants will:
Explore the definition of project-based learning and understand its history.
Discuss examples from a 5th-grade classroom.
Evaluate their curriculum for upcoming opportunities to implement project-based learning.
Design next steps to take to put a project-based learning idea into action.
