Behavior Is Communication: Understanding Trauma in the Classroom REPEAT
Monday February 16, 2026 9:50am - 10:50am CST
This course will help us shift from just seeing behaviors in the classroom to understanding the nervous system for our students and for ourselves. We will define the term “trauma,” articulate the prevalence and nature of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), describe the stress response system and how the brain responds to stress or a potential threat. Then we will spend much of our time focusing on awareness and application of the 4 Pillars of Applied Educational Neuroscience and other Co-Regulation practices from The Regulated Classroom.

Use Technology for Those Student Projects: A Roundtable Discussion
Monday February 16, 2026 1:30pm - 2:30pm CST
Let’s brainstorm a list of projects you can use right now with the technology your students already have. Join this roundtable discussion to swap ideas and chat about ways to help students be better engaged with your content through technology. Be prepared to share ideas of projects you have used with students in the past (or have seen used with students). You can even plug your computer in and showcase examples and student work. Bring ideas and examples to share - or, if you are new and just getting started - come to listen, network, and grab ideas! Teachers of all grades are welcome but be advised that my current position is working with elementary students. I taught middle school and high school for 25+ years, so I can help with those ideas, too, but all my current examples are from elementary school.
