Behavior Intervention Plans
Monday February 16, 2026 11:00am - 12:00pm CST
A Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) outlines how an educational environment can be intentionally designed to improve student behavioral success. This session will provide an overview of the Behavior Intervention Plan process, including how to modify environments to prevent problem behavior, teach functionally equivalent replacement behaviors, and implement consequences that reinforce appropriate behavior. Participants will become familiar with the components of a BIP, review the BIP form, and engage in guided practice completing a Behavior Intervention Plan using real-world examples.

Monday February 16, 2026 1:30pm - 2:30pm CST
Interoception—the ability to notice, interpret, and respond to internal body signals—is a foundational skill for self-regulation and emotional awareness. Based on the work of occupational therapist Kelly Mahler, this introductory session will provide an overview of the Interoception Assessment and its role in understanding student behavior. Participants will learn how interoceptive awareness impacts regulation, behavior, and learning, and how assessment results can be used to guide meaningful, school-based interventions.
